Mechanical Engineer, Full-Time

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest challenges faced by humanity today. To solve this grand challenge,
we need to assemble the greatest team. We are accelerating the goal to eliminate plastic waste with the
largest companies in the world, to reimagine the products that we use everyday. Join Nfinite to
revolutionize the sustainable packaging industry, saving the planet one atom at a time.
As engineers at an advanced nanotechnology start-up, we are excited to be working on the world’s first
truly open-air rapid nanocoating platform of its kind that enables the products of tomorrow, today. Our
team prototypes and builds the mechanisms, components, and systems that make our nanocoating
machine function with high precision and reliability.

Engineer.
The Job:

Tackle multi-disciplinary challenges that are completely unique which will require taking initiative to learn what you don’t know and acquire expertise from others

Have full ownership of bringing various crucial components of the electromechanical system from conception to life through brainstorming, designing, sourcing, prototyping, building, testing validating, iterating, and integrating
-
Use first principles approach to break complex engineering problems down to the fundamentals to create the best yet simple solutions

Push the boundary of machine design to develop the highest performance nanocoating system for mass production on the market
You:
-
Are willing to relocate to Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
-
Want to build a high-precision, high-speed machine that runs reliably, easy to be manufactured, assembled, and maintained
-
Craft elegant designs that function with efficiency and simplicity
-
Are comfortable with hacking and prototyping with limited resources to produce creative and
-
innovative solutions
-
Use 3D CAD to design components, produce drawings, and build assemblies
-
Are familiar with a variety of manufacturing techniques including sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, machining, casting, powder metallurgy, etc.

Exhibit strong communications skills through written, verbal, and graphical presentation techniques
-
Can communicate seamlessly with vendors and suppliers across the globe
-
Have experience with the full product development cycle
Extra Brownie Points:

Have experience with program management, change order controls, supplier industrialization engineering and product lifecycle management

Are familiar with microcontrollers and PLC systems
-
Have experience with system/equipment scaling for mass production and roll-to-roll manufacturing process
-
Experienced in iterating early-stage products and working in a fast-paced environment
-
Understand of the flexible packaging ecosystem and/or background working in sustainability

Have a sense of humor
