Our Story

Nfinite Nanotechnology is an advanced material university spin-off based in Waterloo, ON. Founded on Earth Day 2021, Nfinite’s breakthrough nanocoating technology is based on over 10 years of experience in developing advanced functional thin film, supported by $2M in research funding.

Nfinite is commercializing a rapid open-air nanocoating platform that produces large-area, high-quality, ultrathin-films at low cost, that can be used on a wide range of applications such as batteries, fuel cells, membranes, photovoltaics and flexible electronics. Nfinite’s initial focus is to provide industry high performance barriers layers for biodegradable plastic packaging to accelerate the world’s goal to eliminate plastic packaging pollution.

Chee is a visionary entrepreneur who strives to make a meaningful impact on the environment. He he is a dual degree holder in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Penn State, and an MASc graduate in Mechanical & Mechatronics from the University of Waterloo.

Jhi Yong Loke

CTO & Co-Founder

Jhi is a devoted engineer and entrepreneur who strives for continuous improvement, and is dedicated to make the world a better place through cleantech. He earned a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State and an MASc in Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He oversees the technical team, including product roadmap, R&D, IP strategies, strategic supplier partnerships & financials.

Kevin Musselman, Prof

Scientific Advisor & Co-Founder

Dr. Musselman received his doctoral & postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge. He has helped pioneer the integration of thin films made by spatial atomic layer deposition into the next-generation devices. He has raised over $3M in funding since joining the University of Waterloo, filed 2 patents & published over 65 papers in high-impact-factor journals with over 3900 citations. Dr. Musselman is involved in leading-edge infrastructure, including the 1st spatial atomic layer deposition systems in Canada.
